IMCD announces two important appointments: IMCD corporate announcements 01.03.10

ROTTERDAM, Netherlands (1 March, 2010) – IMCD Group B.V. appoints Mr. Marcus Jordan as a Director Group Development effective 1 March, 2010. “This appointment is in line with the strengthening of our corporate structure considering IMCD’s strategic supplier management and geographic expansion,” says Mr. Piet van der Slikke, the Group´s CEO. Mr. Jordans’s main tasks will be to support the Group’s top management with the development of new territories and new markets. Mr. Jordan will execute this new function in addition to his present responsibilities in the UK, where he is a Business Unit Manager for Advanced Materials. Mr. Jordan holds a degree in chemistry. He is 35 years old and has been with IMCD since 1998.
 
MUMBAI, India (1 March, 2010) – IMCD Group B.V. appoints Mr. Satish Kumar as a Managing Director for IMCD India effective 1 March, 2010. The appointment of Mr. Kumar further strengthens IMCD’s commitment and investment in India, as this is a key strategic focus region for the company.
 
Mr. Kumar comes from a chemical distribution industry and brings along twelve years of valuable experience. He started at Jaysynth, managing exports of dyes & pigments in South East Asia region. He subsequently moved on to ICI, where he became marketing manager for industrial/speciality chemicals.  Prior to joining IMCD India, his last role was as a Business Unit Head for Coatings & Solvents with EAC.
 
“IMCD has been present in India for some years now and after a period of sourcing locally for the European market, we are now rapidly expanding our sales and distribution organisation for the Indian market,” says Mr. Piet van der Slikke, IMCD Group’s CEO. “Having established a sales and distribution organisation in China in November last year, this was the next logical step for us.”
 
Mr. Kumar holds a BSc in Physics, Chemistry & Maths and MBA from Mumbai University.  He is 36 years old, married and resides in Mumbai.
