Brussels, 8 March 2010 - Barentz, the leading specialty raw material company in Europe, and Barcelonesa specializing in the distribution of organic chemical products, chemical specialties and raw materials, joined the European Association of Chemical Distributors (FECC) as the first two new company members in 2010 after a successful 2009 saw five new members join FECC.
The Barentz group exclusively represents a number of leading and innovative producers of raw materials from all over the world, and offers a complete portfolio of products, technological development support and logistic services to the major food and non-food industries in Europe. Established in 1953, Barentz now offers a well-established network of 18 sales offices, three production facilities and two sourcing offices. With over 60 years of experience, Barcelonesa offers global solutions for the distributor section. By sourcing products from all over the world, Barcelonesa, headquartered in Barcelona, currently maintains a portfolio of over 500 products which are ready for immediate delivery primarily to the Iberian Peninsula, Southern Europe and Northern Africa.

With the acceptance of Barentz and Barcelonesa as new members, the FECC now brings together a total of 36 company members as well as 16 national associations, 14 associate and affiliated members. The five new members joining in 2009 are VWR International, JSC Rushimset, Telko, Stera Chemicals and Amlin.
