Styron announces Executive Leadership Team

Styron has today announced the company’s Executive Leadership Team (ELT), following its sale from The Dow Chemical Company to Bain Capital Partners on June 17, 2010. The leadership announcement was made by Chris Pappas, President and Chief Executive Officer of Styron.
 
Besides a number of former Dow executives moving into Styron executive roles, Curtis Shaw has been named Executive Vice President and General Counsel. He joins the company from Celanese.
 
The newly named Executive Leadership Team will include:
  • Jeff Denton, Vice President, Feedstocks and Corporate Services. Denton was previously Director of JV Implementation, Basic Plastics, at Dow.
  • Celso Goncalves, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Goncalves was previously a Senior Business Finance Director at Dow.
  • Marco Levi, Vice President and General Manager of Emulsion Polymers. Levi was previously Business VP of Emulsion Polymers (Latex and Rubber) at Dow.
  • Paul Moyer, Vice President and General Manager of Plastics. Moyer was previously Business VP of Styrenics and Polycarbonate/Compounds and Blends at Dow.
  • Catherine Maxey, Vice President, Public Affairs, Government Affairs and Business Intelligence. Maxey was previously a Business Public Affairs Director at Dow.
  • Mark Remmert, executive consultant to the CEO. Remmert previously served as interim CEO of Styron within Dow, prior to Pappas being named to the role. Remmert will focus on strategic growth opportunities, including a strong concentration in Asia Pacific.
  • Francoise Schouten, Vice President, Director of Human Resources. Schouten was previously a Human Resources Director at Dow.
  • Curtis Shaw, Executive Vice President and General Counsel. Shaw was previously Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at Celanese Corporation.
Styron has approximately US$ 3.7 billion in revenue (pro-forma 2009 data), with 20 manufacturing sites in all geographies and a staff of 1,900 employees.
