EXCiPACT launched by FECC and other trade associations
EXCiPACT™ certification scheme launched in Barcelona by FECC and other trade associations
The launch event for EXCiPACT™, the new, voluntary international certification scheme took place today in Barcelona, Spain.
Initiated by a group of industry experts from the European Fine Chemicals Group (EFCG), the International Pharmaceutical Excipients Council (IPEC) Europe, IPEC Americas , the European Association of Chemical Distributors (FECC), and the Pharmaceuticals Quality Group (PQG), the scheme provides for the high quality, independent 3rd party certification of manufacturers and suppliers of pharmaceutical excipients.
Following the prescribed cGMP and cGDP standards and based on ISO9001, this program is an important means to enhancing patient safety through ensuring supplier quality, at the same time optimising overall supply chain cost.
EXCiPACTTM as an organisation is currently in transition from a project within the IPEC Federation into a not-for-profit, stand alone, legal entity. This process is envisioned to be completed during in 2012.
