Comment: This logical move after the announcement of the Stockmeier-Staub  merger agreement could mark the beginning of a restructuring of the cross-participations German Commodity distributors hold in other companies operating more or less independently from one another. The Brenntag Group besides Brenntag Gmbh controls several other German distributors operating under their own original names and several medium size distributors or Pentists also hold cross or joint participations in other regional independently run companies. The German commodity distribution market represents a rather unique competitive situation in Europe.
